Johnston clinches overall nett title
Australian born Errol Johnston came up with a
superlative performance to win the overall Nett title at the third
round of the monthly golf championship organised by the Victoria
Golf and Country Resort and worked off successfully at the beautiful
Victoria golf course in Rajawella off Kandy.

Double Eagle ridden by S. Vijayanath brought the
Governor’s Cup for Monaro Group from India at the Nuwara Eliya Horse
Race Meet on Saturday. Double Eagle defeated Aerobee ridden by S. D.
Janaka which was owned by I Dassanayake.

Colombo FC scrape through to fourth round
The Colombo FC which won the Silver Cup a few
weeks ago scraped through to the fourth round of the Holcim FA Cup
Soccer Championship when they defeated Thunders Sports Club from
Ja-Ela on a tie breaker at the Football Federation ground, Kelaniya
during the weekend.
