SLID training program series:

Third module completed

The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID) conducted the third module in their series of trainings on corporate stewardship and board room governance to a full house audience at the Cinnamon Grand recently. Active audience participation with the knowledgeable panelists, added a wider angle to the topic 'Focusing on key areas reserved for the Board.'

The competent panel led and challenged by Hemas Holdings Chairman Lalith de Mel and supported by John Keells Holdings PLC Deputy Chairman Ajit Gunewardena, Hayleys PLC former Chairman N.G. (Tanky) Wickremaratne, Nithya Partners Partner Naomal Goonewardena, Dialog Telekom PLC Director/CEO Dr Hans Wijayasuriya and Post Graduate Institute of Management Director Dr Uditha Liyanage kept the attention of the audience.

Talking on the importance of the board, areas reserved for the board, the various functions that the board got involved in, setting up of strategies and aligning key policies and procedures with strategies and goals and planning and performance monitoring. The next module in this series will be on 'Effectively dealing with contemporary board Issues' to be conducted on April 22.
