Cambodia to strengthen ties with Cuba
Cambodia: The Government of Cambodia expressed willingness to
strengthen bilateral ties with Cuba, and committed to supporting the
Caribbean island’s major vindications.

Officials from the Cambodian Foreign Ministry and Parliament met with
a delegation from the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP),
and expressed their gratitude for 50 years of solidarity. ICAP Vice
President Alicia Corredera met first with the State Secretary for the
Americas, Ouch Borith, who guaranteed his Government’s willingness to
boost relations.
Borith thanked Cuba for its support in different periods of Cambodian
history, and confirmed the organization of several events to celebrate
the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
Corredera also met with members of Cuban solidarity groups in the
Senate and the National Assembly, who repeated their condemnation of
Washington’s genocidal economic war against the island nation.
Kim Naing, Vice President of the parliamentary group, assured that
they would continue to fight for the release of five Cuban
antiterrorists who have been held in US prisons for 11 years.
