IPMSL signs MOU with UK University

The Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka [IPMSL} exchanged papers and signed an MOU with Northumbria University, Newcastle, UK which is represented locally by Business Management School (BMS) as the Regional Centre for Sri Lanka and Maldives.

This will provide an opportunity for candidates who have obtained IPM qualifications to complete an international degree with one year of study in UK. However, there is an option to complete the Leadership and Management honours degree program in Sri Lanka too.

Northumbria University is a research-engaged and business-focused academic institution located in Newcastle upon Tyne in North East England. Northumbria attracts some 35,000 students from 140 countries making it the largest university in the North East of England and also the largest provider of graduates to the professions, business and industry in its region and maintains a reputation as one of Britain’s best modern universities and takes pride in their quality of teaching. Northumbria University has been working extensively across Sri Lanka for many years and it’s constantly looking at ways to develop new links and further strengthen existing ones.

There is a degree pathway for all PQHRM and NDHRM passed finalists in their professional/academic career.

There are two specific pathways that students can follow in order to qualify themselves to become Professionals in HR and other streams.

One is the path created for those who have already completed the Professional Qualification in Human Resource Management Stage I and II. They will get exemption from years I and II of the degree BA (Hons.) from Northumbria, and will go onto the final year.

The other path is for those students who have completed local A/Ls and London A/Ls, and who opt for studying full time. They will have to take the qualifying course for PQHRM (QCPQHRM) which will be conducted within six weeks at IPM. Thereafter, they will have to take the PQHRM Stage I and II as usual, and then go onto the final year of BA Hons.
