Cabinet Spokesman, Export Development and International Trade Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris said yesterday the Government deplores the attempt to meddle in the internal affairs of the country by UN Secretary General Ban K. Moon at a time pro-LTTE groups and lobbies in the West are working against the country.

Mammoth defeat awaits UNP

Over 150 seats will be won by the UPFA recording a two-thirds majority at the upcoming General Election, whereas it is abundantly clear that the UNP will be unable to secure even 50 seats, Central Provincial Council Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake said after commissioning an irrigation project at Hasalaka.
