Maharoof back in squad

The national selectors yesterday named a 30 member squad in preparation for the up coming ICC Twenty20 World Cup tournament which will be held in the West Indies next month.

Former Sri Lanka all rounder Farveez Maharoof has been recalled after a long lay off together with Nuwan Zoysa, Chamara Silva and Upul Tharanga. The new faces in the squad are former Sri Lanka youth captain Dinesh Chandimal, Jeewan Mendis and Kaushal Silva.

However the national selectors have omitted Jeevantha Kulatunga who in fact was named as the Man of the Series in the recently concluded Inter Provincial Twenty20 tournament.
