Vilma Gomes

For 79 beautiful years you lived
And to so many people you loved to give,
Not only your money, but knowledge too
Which brightened the lives of many people like you.

She was like the doctor in the house
Making sure that the vitamins reached our mouths,
Everyday I remember how she took her puffs
And not forgetting her eye drops.

She always sat near the corner most window
Gazing at the trees, birds and the beauty of nature,
Reading the Bible, the upper room and the papers
However, she never forgot to do her crosswords.

Day-by-day she learnt God's word
And she loved to eat lots of curd,
A chicken soup for lunch everyday
And a health syrup the same way.

She was humble, kind and old
But her heart, was more valuable than gold,
Always full of laughter and good cheer
And she will always be remembered for many a year.

I thank you mummy for what you have been
A great example which we all have inherited in our genes,
You will always be remembered by all of us
For I now truly know that you are with Jesus.
