Bangladesh take Cricket gold

Bangladesh won the gold in the Twenty20 cricket discipline held for the first with a close six runs win over Sri Lanka in the final played at Bangladesh National Stadium in Mirpur.

Homesters taking first lease scored 157 for 7 in their allotted overs. Kamal Hassen batted aggressively to hit a quick fire 42 and useful contributions came from M. P. Mithun 37 and S. Rahaman 20. Thisira Perera captured 2 for 35 while Sachith Pathirana claimed 2 for 21.

Sri Lanka chasing a victory target of 158 runs were dismissed for 152 in 19.5 overs. Sachith Pathirana hit a brisk 36, Skipper Ashan Priyanjana stroked 25 while Lahiru Thirimanne top scored with a fleshy 39.
