Two of Sri Lanka's most talented personalities linked with cinema
passed away recently. Renowned actor and music director H. A. Perera who
was widely known for his role in teledramas like Doo Daruwo and Nadayo
passed away after a brief illness on February 4 at 59.
He entered the scene as a stage actor and is known for his
performances in Sekkuwa, Galileo Galilei and the film Kelimadala. He
directed the music for Parakrama Niriella's popular Janakaraliya series.
The funeral was held at the Madampitiya cemetery in Modera at 5 p.m.
yesterday.
Film, drama director, actor and teledrama director Pathiraja L.S.
Dayananda also passed away at 64. He was a well known figure on stage,
the small screen and the wide screen. He was the maker of films like
Hathdinnath Tharu, Ganga, Selinage Walawwa, Thuththirimal and Sinhabahu.
His teledramas Yakage Kammala and Kawruth Enne was very popular among
the audience. He also acted in projects like Ahas Gawwa, Rena Giraw and
Wanagatha Kolla.
The funeral took place yeaterday.
