Moratu Vidyalaya win by an innings

Moratu Vidyalaya beat St. Mary's College, Kegalle by an innings and 14 runs before lunch in their inter-school Under-19 cricket match worked off at Moratuwa.

Resuming at 240 for 5 homesters were all out for 262 with overnight batsmen Kalhara Peiris and Janidu Devinda were dismissed for 80 and 60 runs respectively. P. Jayawickrama was the pick of the bowling for the visitors with 5 for 52. In their second essay Marians were shot out for 109 before 12 noon with Sudeepa Kelum claiming 5 for 26.

St. Mary's: 139 and 109 (Malinda Gunaratne 29, Eraj Jayamanne 32, Sudeepa Kelum 5/26, Sanka Ramesh 3/24, Lakmal Udayanga 2/30).

MMV: 262 (Kalhara Peiris 80, Janidu Devinda 60, Sudeepa Kelum 20, P. Jayawickrama 5/52, Malinda Gunaratne 3/51).
