Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake yesterday said that he is fully satisfied with the recent Presidential Election including polling, counting procedure and tabulated results.

Surrender order to Army deserters

The Government has given the opportunity for all Army deserters to surrender today at their nearest Army camp. Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said the Government has decided to grant a last opportunity to the Army deserters to surrender to their respective regiment or to the nearest Army camp on Independence Day.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will open the Deyata Kirula development exhibition in Kandy today at 4.00 p.m. This is the fourth Deyata Kirula exhibition and the first being held outside Colombo.
