Retired Army officers produced before Magistrate

Two Senior Retired Army Officers, Priyantha Gunaratne and Priyantha Kumara Seneviratne were produced before Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Lanka Jayaratne by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday. The CID submitting a report in connection with the on going investigations said they took the two retired Army Officers into custody on a complaint made by Major General Manawadu.

On an application by Senior Counsel Siraz Noordeen the Judge granted bail on the two officers in a sum of Rs 25,000 each and directed them to appear in Court again on February 10.

The CID also told Court that they are conducting investigations against Vijitha Kodippili, a Director attached to a private firm.
