Sanda Eliya Wage to spread its rays
Director Ravindra Wijeratne's latest tele project Sanda Eliya Wage
(Like Moonbeams), sees youth love froma new angle as it explores the
mindsets of several young individuals in society. Woven around an
enchanting tale of humanity, romance and a number of new characters that
are a far cry from the stereotype roles found in today's teledramas,
Sanda Eliya Wage is sure to bring a smile or sigh to your lips.

Vishaka Kasthuriratne is a young man selling sweep tickets while
singing songs reflecting his future desires. We later learn that this
unusual young man was unable to enter university because he had not got
the sufficient marks to enter university. As an attempt to ease the
burden of his family Vishaka decides not to try his hand at the G.C.E.
A\Ls again. He takes to the career of selling sweep tickets to support
his father-less family, much to his mother's disapproval.
However the trials and misfortunes in life had not broken his
determination. He follows a Japanese Language Course with the hope of
attaining a scholarship to go to Japan. When a colleague named Ramesh,
the son of an ex-millionaire who is bankrupt, cracks an embarrassing
joke at another student called Mahima Wijewardana, Vishaka becomes
unexpectedly involved in the crisis.
He realizes that Mahima is actually one of his childhood friends but
he was not given an opportunity to reveal this to her. Mahima too finds
him familiar but could not place where exactly she had seen him before.
So follows the tale with a refreshing theme and look at romance that
is currently being shot in locations in Colombo. It comprises 150
episodes and is produced by Sandya Mendis on behalf of Susila
Productions.
Nehara Peries, Sriyantha Mendis, Kusum Renu, Jagath Chamila, Kavinga
Perera, Nadeesha Alahaperuma, Malini Weeramuni, Deepani Silva, Nino
Jayakody, Tissa Gunatileke and others make up the cast. The line
producer is Saliya de Zoysa while the concept is by Edwin Peiris.
Kavinda Malaviarachchi is the scriptwriter assisted by Uvani Chamika.
The Asstant Directors are Pradeep Jayantha and Eranda Madushan.
Priyantha Ranasinghe is the art director, Jayantha Ranasinghe the
cameraman, Tharanga Dissanayake the production manager and Thilanka
Bandara the editor.
The music director is Rohana Weerasinghe and the make-up department
is handled by Pushpakumara Bandara.
