Sampath Bank in 82-69 win

Sampath Bank defeated Akbar Brothers Ltd. by 82 points to 69 in a Delmege Super League ‘A’ Division Basketball game played at Otter’s Aquatic Club court.

Akbar Brothers in the lead by 40 points to 38 at half time. Mithila Abeysekera was the top scorer for the winning team with 24 points. Chameera Ratnayake bagged 19 and Werantha Bastians got 12 points while Sanketha Jayaratne (25 points) and Thushara Jayaratne (22 points) made valuable contributions for Akbar Brothers team.

Standard Chartered Bank beat Expo Lanka Group by 79 points to 53 in a Delmege Super League ‘D’ Division Basketball match played at the same venue.

Standard Chartered Bank was in the lead by 47 points to 26 at half time.

Rezan Uzup was the highest scorer for the wining team with 29 points, Thangawelu Gobinathan’s contribution was 14 and Asela Ranatunga got 11 points. Tharik Madud scored 17 points for Expo Lanka, Hareen Weerasinghe collected 12 points.
