Dengue has affected 75 percent of Colombo’s children

The Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry has discovered that 75 percent of the children below the age of 12 living in Colombo city limits have been infected with the dengue virus and there is a possibility of those with weak immune systems, being vulnerable to the disease, a Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry spokesman said.

Sri Lanka’s telecommunication industry second to none - TRC DG

Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRC) Director General, Priyantha Kariyapperuma said that Sri Lanka is one of the first countries in the Asian region to introduce 3G, 3.5G services and High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) technology. This has enabled subscribers to have access not only to voice communications, but also to a wide range of features such as video conferencing, video streaming, mobile TV, music streaming and high speed internet.
