Influenza closes Sabaragamuwa University

The Sabaragamuwa University at Belihuloya was temporarily closed by authorities yesterday and students asked to leave the campus following the outbreak of an influenza type fever among students.

A spokesman for the university said about 100 students of both sexes have been treated for a viral fever which normally recedes within three to four days after medication and there is no cause for anxiety.

The university closed only as a precautionary measure would re-open on December 2.
