'Education, key to build free country'

The administrative sector lies in the hands of our future generation. So we should guide them to take the responsibility of building a free and just Sri Lanka, said Sabaragamuwa Province Chief Minister Maheepala Herath. He was speaking at Hiriwadunna Vidyalaya as the Chief Guest at the opening of a school building constructed at a cost of Rs. 9.5 million.

The Minister said education is the most important factor in creating good citizens. "We should educate children as they are the country's future administrators.

The younger generation should be brought up in a decent environment and the teachings and values of the Buddha should be taught from early days to build disciplined society.

Our Government is rendering a great service to improve the education sector, he said.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has progressive policies to bring prosperity to the country. He said the country's development would not be retarded at any cost.
