Jeevan felicitated
A film festival was recently held at Ritz cinema hall, Borella to
celebrate the silver jubilee of popular actor Jeevan Kumaranatunga's
cinema career.

The film festival featured Peralikarayo, Madhu Sihina, Edath Chandiya
Adath Chandiya, Tunveni Ehee, Puthuni Mata Vasana, Koti Sana and
Randenigala Sinhaya shown at 7 p.m. everyday free of charge.
The event was organized by the National Film Corporation under the
sponsorship of Sunil T. Fernando.
Hitha Honda Chandiya, Veli Sulanga, Hita Honda Puthek and Suranimala
and Suranimala were telecast on ITN too while Madhu Sihina, Sathya Devi,
Rattaran Minihek, Trishoolaya, Lassanai Balanna, Seethala Ginikandu and
Chandi Raja were telecast on Swarnavahini.
Kumaranatunga is the Land and Land Development Minister and completes
15 years in his political career this month as well.
Offering 1000 title deeds, scholarship for poor schoolchildren,
distributing 10000 textbooks among schoolchildren, opening 10 computer
centres, three job markets, three beauty culture workshops, distributing
fruit seeds among 10000 families and state-sponsored medical clinics
will be held from today to mark the anniversary.
"I wish I had more time for cinema, but I am happy I could serve
people. Still I haven't given up the habit of watching films." Minister
Kumaranatunga said.
"It was a hard path for me. But I managed to triumph over it." He
