Close win for Joseph Vaz

In the All Island Under 19 boys basketball Bowl Tournament (C Division) which concluded yesterday at Ananda College, Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa beat Sri Dharma College Galle by the just one point 57/56 in an exciting final. After leading comfortably 33/28 at half time.

Highest scorer for winners was Vidura Udayanga with 25 points. Vidura was also the Best Player of the tournament.

Ramesh Vimukthi scored 14 points for the winners while Shalaka Adihetti 20 and Buddi Yasas 17 scored for the losers.

Best Offensive player was Buddhi Yasas of Sri Dharma College, Galle. Best Defensive player was Ramesh Vimukthi (Joseph Vaz).

In the consolation final Ananda College got a walk over from Alethea International school.

The Secretary of the Schools Basketball Association Rev. Bro. Jeyakanthan of De La Salle College was the chief guest.
