Spinner Janaka Gunaratne captured five wickets for 25 to spearhead Chilaw Marians SC to a 63 run victory on the Duckworth and Lewis scoring method over Baduraliya CC in their rain hit SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match worked off at the FTZ grounds in Katunayake yesterday.

Saracens skittled out for 58

Tamil Union put up a tremendous performance to skittle out Saracens SC for just 58 runs and pull off a rousing eight wicket victory in their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match worked off at the P. Saravanamuttu Oval yesterday.

Saracens SC: 58 in 25.1 overs (S. Lakmal 3 for 18, J. Mendis 2 for 4)

Tamil Union: 60 for 2 in 9 overs (G. Rupasinghe 22 n.o, I. Udana 38, M. Wijetilleke 2 for 2)

Dilshan an unbeaten 67

Dashing opener Tillekeratne Dilshan struck and unbeaten 67 from 44 deliveries inclusive of two sixes and eight boundaries but Bloomfield had to settle with a no decision in their rain hit SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match against NCC worked off at Maitland Place yesterday.

NCC: 213 for 9 in 50 overs (K. Sangakkara 45, K. Kulasekera 74, K. Perera 36, T. Lakshitha 2 for 24, R. Fernando 2 for 44, T. Dilshan 2 for 34)

Bloomfield: 125 for 3 in 14 overs (T. Dilshan 67 n.o, S. Jayantha 21)

A no decision

SSC put up a fine performance on the field to reduce Sri Lanka Army SC to 193 for 8 before heavy rain washed out their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match which ended in a no decision at Panagoda yesterday.

Army SC: 193 for 8 in 50 overs (A. Karunatilleke 56, D. Indika 45, T. Soysa 20, N. Zoysa 2 for 35, D. Fernando 2 for 36, K. Lokuarachchi 2 for 25)

SSC: 73 for 2 in 17 overs (N. Perera 37 n.o, A. Karunatilleke 2 for 32)

Moors bowled out for 90

Moors SC were shot out for 90 runs and Colts CC were cruising along at 38 for 2 when bad weather intervened to force a no result to their rain hit SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match worked off at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

Moors SC: 90 in 32.2 overs (D. Lokuhettige 19, W. Fernando 19 n.o, R. Perera 2 for 22, T. Perera 3 for 24, R. Silva 2 for 14, S. Weerakoon 2 for 24)

Colts CC: 38 for 2 in 6 overs.

Rain spoils cricket

Only four overs were possible due to bad weather in the rain hit SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament match between CCC and Ragama CC which ended in a no decision at Maitland Crescent yesterday.

CCC: 13 for 2 in 4 overs (D. Gamage 2 for 9) v Ragama CC
