SLPMA turns 45
Sri Lanka Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (SLPMA) celebrated
their 45th anniversary recently at Cinnamon Grand. The chief guest for
the occasion was Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala De
Silva and Industrial Development Minister Kumara Welgama.

The President of SLPMA G. Karunapala highlighted the achievements
made by the members of the association and emphasized the potential the
local industry has for the future.
The presentation made by committee member of the Association Shalutha
Athauda,highlighted some of the tax anomalies that the local industry
has to face compared to an importer and compared the domestic protection
given to other industries.
Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva emphasized the importance of the
local pharmaceutical industry and appreciated the services rendered to
both the Government and the private sector by the members of the
association.
Minister Kumara Welgama outlined the support extended by his
ministry.
