The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) began new night-bus services called Anthima Basaya (Last Bus) to 21 destinations on Wednesday on a special request by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The service would prevent passengers being stranded at bus stands late night without buses while providing transport to working people especially women who leave their work places at night.

These night services commencing from the Central Bus Stand, Pettah at 10pm daily will go on to Ingiriya, Mattegoda, Meegoda, Kaduwela, Gothatuwa, Hanwella, Angoda, Mattakkuliya, Udahamulla, Mount-Lavinia, Horana, Aluthgama, Delgoda, Nittambuwa, Hendala, Raddolugama, Pugoda, Dekatana, Negombo, Divulapitiya and Avissawella.
