NCC in two wicket win

NCC after conceding first innings points came back magnificently to beat Kurunegala YCC outright by two wickets in their SLC under 23 division one cricket tournament match concluded at Maitland Place yesterday.

After bundling out their opponents for 98 in the second innings NCC reached their victory target of 145 runs with three deliveries and two wickets to spare.

Kurunegala YCC: 164 and 98 (V. Perera 20, D. Dassanayake 25, L. Gamage 3 for 17, R. Laksiri 4 for 14, P. Wijenayake 2 for 31).NCC: 117 (D. Dahanayake 46, P. Wijenayake 33, R. Laksiri 27 n.o, C. Pathirana 3 for 23, U. Bandara 2 for 24, C. Edirisinghe 3 for 24) and 145 for 8 (A. Silva 40, M. Wille 39, D. Dahanayake 32, D. Dassanayake 2 for 22, T. Herath 2 for 33).

Shalika fine century

All rounder Shalika Karunanayake hit a splendid 101 to guide SSC to an exciting first innings victory over Kandy YCC in a high scoring SLC under 23 division one cricket tournament match concluded at Maitland Place yesterday.

Kandy YCC: 313 (K. Ranjith 43, M. Weerasinghe 37, D. Mitipolarachi 93, K. Ekanayake 32, A. Riyal 37, S. Fernando 7 for 110).

SSC: 325 for 9 (S. Karunanayake 101, D. Karunaratne 49, A. Berenger 52, U. Wijesiri 33 n.o, C. Ranaweera 2 for 76, A. Riyal 2 for 81).

Charith takes 6 for 67

A fine spell of bowling from Charith Sampath (6 for 67) helped Seeduwa Raddolwa CC beat Chilaw Marians SC on the first innings in their SLC under 23 division one cricket tournament match concluded at the BRC ground in Havelock Park yesterday.

Seeduwa Raddoluwa CC: 214 and 194 for 9 (G. Kumara 57, C. Gayan 32, I. Massalage 31, S. Sampath 21 n.o, R. Karunaratne 5 for 65, M. Pushpakumara 2 for 51). Chilaw Marians SC: 177 (L. Weragala 20, M. Liyanapathirana 23, M. Pushpakumara 32, A. Jayanoda 22 n.o, C. Gayan 2 for 21, C. Sampath 6 for 67).

BRC fall short

BRC after conceding first innings points came back strongly as they fell short by just one wicket from pulling off an outright victory in their SLC under 23 division one cricket tournament match concluded at the P. Saravanamuttu Oval yesterday. BRC: 105 and 185 (R. Gayashan 62, A. Solomons 36, A. Rabel 24, P. Perera 20, S. Lakmal 3 for 22, S. Serasinghe 3 for 71, N. Kavikara 2 for 13). Bloomfield recover

Bloomfield recovered well through their late order batting to beat Moratuwa SC on the first innings in their SLC under 23 division one cricket tournament match concluded at the De Soysa Stadium in Moratuwa yesterday.

Moratuwa SC: 121 and 203 for 8 (S. Gunawardena 55 n.o, N. Priyanjana 32, S. Peiris 27, N. Fernando 20, N. Karunanayake 3 for 32, L. Lakmal 3 for 24, D. Ratnayake 2 for 19).
