Api Wenuwen Api fund:

Highest ever donation from AASL


Rs. 14 million was donated for the ‘Api Wenuwen Api’ fund collected by employees of Airport and Aviation Services Sri Lanka Limited. The cheque was handed over to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees by Minister Chamal Rajapaksa recently. Chairman of Airport and Aviation Authority Prasanna Wickramasooriya was also present.

Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited (AASL) has donated the highest ever sigle donation - Rs. 14 million - to the fund in aid of the war heroes who sacrificed their lives and fought the three decade old terrorist war to an end.

This large sum of money collected under the guidance of Ports and Civil Aviation Minister Chamal Rajapaksa was presented to President Mahinda Rajapaksa by Chairman of Airport and Civil Aviation Company Prasnna Wickremasuriya.

The donation consists of the employees Day’s salary, collection from the Buddhist society and from the passengers, will be utilised for the construction of 20 houses under the concept of Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Representatives of the Board of Directors and Employees and Shamindra Rajapaksa were also present.
