Anuradhapura district annual Literary Festival

Anuradhapura district annual Literary Festival will be held on
September 10 and 11 at Tirappane Divisional Secretariat Office on a
grand scale.
According to District Assit. Cultural Director. D.M.W. Kumaradasa the
festival is being organised by the Cultural Department in conjunction
with Anuradhapura District Secretariat and Tirappane Divisional
Secretariat Offices.
Guests of honour will be the North Central Province, Governor,
Karunaratna Divulgane, Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake and
Petroleum Resources Minister Duminda Dissanayaka.
A program on lyrical creations will be held on September 10.
Lyricists Mahinda Dissanayaka, Ranjith Wijewickrama, Karunaratna
Jayathilaka and Milinda Weerakoon will participate.
While Minister Duminda Dissanayaka will deliver the invitees' speech,
the key speech will be delivered by Senior Lecturer Attanayake M. Herath.
A Kavi Maduwa and dancing performances by Meemalwewa Kalayathanaya
are also lined up on the same day. Anuradhapura District Secretary H.M.K.
Herath and Asst. Cultural Director D.M.W. Kumaradasa also will speak.
The following day a cultural pageant and a Gee Rasa Vindana program
on lyrical creations by Rambanda Seneviratna with the participation of
Lyricist Mahinda Chandrasekara, Ratna K. Premasiri and Rajith Rupasinghe
will be held.
Vocalist Premawardena Kapuge will make some renditions to this
program.
On the final day guests of honour, Governor Karunaratna Divulgane,
Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake and Additional District
Secretary R.K. Premasiri, Tirappane Divisional Secretary H.M.J.M. Herath
will address the gathering. |
