Moratuwa SC in first innings win

Moratuwa Sports Club pulled off a sensational 30 runs first innings win over more fancied Moors Sports Club in their Under-23 Division I League Tournament cricket match organised by SLC and played at de Soysa Stadium, Moratuwa.

Continuing at 25 for no loss visitors were reeling at 170 for 7 and at this stage former Cambrian skipper Pishan Hewage was a threat to the homesters and after his exit visitors could only muster 214 runs. Hewage contributed 63 runs. Sineth Gunawardena 5 for 55 and Sanka Peiris 4 for 34 shared the wickets and at the close of play Moratuwites were 71 for 2 with Nayana Priyanjana making 40 runs.

Chief scores

MSC: 244 and 71/2 (Nayana Priyanjana 40, Vimukthi Perera 2/35).

Moors SC: 214 (Primoj Perera 23, Imraz Rissi 24, Imesh Udayanga 38, Pishan Hewage 63, Sineth Gunawardena 5/55, Sanka Peiris 4/34).
