Revision of gas prices

The price of a 12.5 kg of Shell gas cylinder will be increased by Rs.103 while the price of a 12.5kg Laugfs gas cylinder will be increased by Rs.69 with effect from midnight today.

Accordingly, the new price of a 12.5kg Shell gas cylinder will be Rs.1550 while a new price of a 12.5kg Laugfs gas cylinder will be Rs.1476.

These prices are based on the import cost of the gas for the months of June and July this year, which was an increase over the preceding period.

The price of a domestic cylinder of gas has been revised following the gas pricing formula agreement formulated in two months time by the Price Committee of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) under the approval of the Supreme Court.
