Honduras Resistance continues
Honduras: The National Front against the coup d’Etat stated
Thursday that the peaceful struggle will continue until the recovery of
the State of Law, despite the violent repression sparked off by the army
and the police.
“They do not stop us,” stresses a brief release from the
organization, by confirming people will rally today at the National
Pedagogical University, besieged by armed forces on Wednesday.
A delegation from the Front attended the Resistance program yesterday
night at the Radio Globo station. They confirmed the decision of
maintaining the popular mobilization until the restitution of the
constitutional order, broken after the June 28 military coup.
Democratic Unification Party deputy Tomas Andino and indigenous
leader Berta Caceres denounced the brutality of the repression, saying
the resistance of the people won’t decline.
The Front’s general coordinator Juan Barahona termed fascist the de
facto government, pointing out that the army’s repression and riot
police are an example of desperation.
Barahona insisted on the need of continuing the active but peaceful
resistance, stating moral and firmness of people’s force, after 46th
consecutive days of strike. Tegucigalpa, Prensa Latina |
