Vietnam: The Southeast Asian countries are focused on the
fight against A(H1N1) flu that is threatening life and economy more and
more.
In an extraordinary meeting six of the countries of the area got
together in Chiang Rai Thai city to discuss measures ready to avoid a
second wave of the new flu facing the threat of a possible outbreak of
the disease, starting on next November.
Experts of competent organs of Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia,
Vietnam and Thailand analyze the epidemic situation in a three-day
meeting that will conclude Friday.
About 30 specialists take part in those debates to control the
illness facing the proximity of winter season with participation of the
International Organization of the Health Program for Migrants.
In its most recent annual report the World Health Organization (WHO)
pointed out a remarkable increasing tendency of this pathogenic in the
area where 65 people have died particularly in Thailand and Vietnam.
The health authorities in Hanoi have reported the second death of
this new viral flu that has now amount to 1,275 cases confirmed
nationwide, 396 of them remain in hospital under treatment. Hanoi,
