Suicide jacket, arms found in Vavuniya

Police found a suicide jacket and arms following a tip-off in Vavuniya on Thursday evening, police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said.

A special police team from Vavuniya on information from an LTTE suspect, recovered the suicide jacket, three timers, three remote control devices, three antennas and a metal plate."The explosives were hidden opposite Nelli Star Hotel in Vavuniya," he added. STF personnel continuing search operations in the Thoppigala area unearthed arms and ammunition in Narakamulla on Thursday.
