Troops uncover more weapons

The Security Forces in search of more LTTE arms have uncovered a
cache of weapons and other military items in Puthukudiyiruppu area on
Monday.
Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said troops of the
Task Force VIII continuing search and mopping up operations in the
Puthukudiyiruppu area found a stock of arms.
Troops recovered 59 boxes of live T56 ammunition, 18 anti tank
ammunition, three micro pistols, two pistol magazines, 127 pistol
ammunition, six T56 weapons, two T56 magazines, two anti aircraft
weapons, 12 AP mines, three communication sets, a 0.22 magazine, a
paddle gun barrel, 30 oxygen cylinders, 17 field books, a hand grenade
and an 81mm mortar shell.
Meanwhile, troops of the Task Force VIII in the Suganthipuram have
unearthed 38 AP mines, two 120mm mortar shells and six 81mm mortar
shells.
