NTB wins American Express Service quality award



 American Express Card

American Express Global Network Services recently recognized Nations Trust Bank as the Award Winner of the 2008 Service Quality Award in the Issuing category. The GNS Service Quality Awards are based on the previous year's performance and is awarded on an annual basis. The Awards recognize Partners of the American Express Card and their delivery of outstanding service to Cardmembers and merchant service establishments.

The award selection process is competitive and has been selected from American Express partner organizations around the world. This marks the second time the Bank is being recognized, having won the same award for its performance in 2004. In Sri Lanka, Nations Trust Bank PLC serves as the sole acquirer and issuer of the American Express Card.

The Card targeted to the premium market offers an exclusive value proposition to the discerning Cardmember with benefits ranging from everyday spend at regular merchant outlets as well as having some of the best deals and benefits at premium outlets. The Bank partnered with the national carrier in January this year to launch the SriLankan Airlines Platinum American Express Card.

Commenting on receiving this rare recognition, DGM Consumer Banking at Nations Trust Bank PLC, Renuka Fernando said, "We are delighted for our service and contribution in making American Express the preferred Card amongst our cardmembers and merchants.

This achievement signifies the passion and excellence of our team at Nations Trust Bank in delivering exceptional services."

She said, "In qualifying for this award, they have particularly considered our Quality Circles which strives to continuously improve our delivery times and processes, our customer relationship management programme and our ongoing programs to monitor and measure our critical service level agreements to our cardmembers."

London based President of Global Network Services of the American Express Network Services Peter Godfrey said, "It is a pleasure to recognize Nations Trust Bank for its commitment to delivering high quality customer service.
