Chavez calls Japan to set up alliances
JAPAN: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez called the Japanese
businessmen to set up a strategic liquidity fund to brace relations and
boost bilateral investments.
Chavez, now visiting Japan, noted the raising volume of Japanese
investments and technology in Venezuela that wishes to set up joint
ventures and alliances on energy, gas, industry and finances.
He added that Faja del Orinoco is splitting in blocks and invited
Japan to invest there.
The Venezuelan statesman hopes to supply Japan one million oil
barrels daily as owner of the largest world oil reserves that will allow
it to export liquid gas in three years to Japan and other countries.
Chavez termed the meeting successful and invited the Japanese
businessmen to visit Venezuela and become familiar with future energy
projects.
Venezuela and Japan signed today 12 energy cooperation accords that
help cement economic collaboration.
