Hand grenade in trishaw

A hand grenade was found in a three-wheeler near the market of Polonnaruwa town.

Police has arrested the driver and took the three-wheeler into custody according to information reached at around 12 noon yesterday.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Roshan de Silva said that the grenade was disposed by Police Bomb Disposal Unit.

Further investigation is being conducted under the instruction of Polonnaruwa SSP Jayantha Wickramasinghe.

It was later revealed that the suspect was a resident of Bediwewa, Polonnaruwa.
