Emergency passed

The motion moved by Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka to extend the emergency regulations by another one month was passed with a majority of 81 votes in Parliament yesterday. The TNA asked for a division and voted against. The JVP and JHU voted in favour, while the UNP abstained from voting.
