Divisional Secretaries to monitor development projects

The development projects being carried out at Grama Niladhari and District Secretariat level will come under the close supervision and inspection of respective Divisional Secretary.

The Public Administration Ministry has issued a special directive that all mini scale development projects at village level be supervised by respective District Secretary with the support of Grama Niladharis, Samurdhi and Agriculture Development officers.

According to Public Administration Ministry sources, Public Administration Minister Sarath Amunugama has planned to provide better communication facilities to Grama Niladharies to obtain first hand information pertaining to development at GN division level.

“The Minister is of the view that development activities at village level should be expedited with the director involvement of Government officials in the village.

The Government allocates over Rs. 840 million for mini scale projects at GN division level” , the sources said.
