RAVEENDRA - RAJ S. Passed away on January 23, 2009 in Phoenix,
Arizona, USA. In his professional life he served as a Tea Taster at Brook
Bond (Ceylon) Ltd and Stores Manager - M.J.F Exports (Colombo) Ltd. In addition
to his professional life he was a member of the Baha’i Faith. He faithfully
served his religion all his life. During his 60 plus years of services to his
faith he did serve as a member of the earliest Baha’i Assembly of Colombo in the
1950’s. Later he served as a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the
Bahai Faith in Sri Lanka for over two decades and as its Secretary for many
years. His services as an Auxillary Board member of the Baha’i Faith took him to
almost all the rural areas of Sri Lanka promoting his beliefs. He rendered his
services to humanity selflessly and with distinction. For such services he
recieved the admiration of all. They remember vividly his genuine care for
everyone irrespective of colour, race and religion. He was the beloved husband
of Nona Ratna, father of Dheena & Rhumi (USA), Zareen (Canada), Tony, Rhuhi (Sri
Lanka), father-in-law of Bassir, Lal, Jude, Lalitha, grandfather of Pardis,
Mehdi, Shirin, Anis, Taniya, Tamarih & Sabah. Funeral service was held in
Arizona, USA on Sunday 25th January 2009 (24:00 hrs Sri Lanka time).
