ICASL and ACCA forge stronger national alliance
Two leading professional accountancy bodies have agreed to work
together even more closely in future to develop the profession in Sri
Lanka.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) and ACCA
(the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) have signed a
memorandum of understanding which will strengthen the relationship and
foster mutual co-operation between the two institutions.

President of ICASL, Nishan Fernando said: “ACCA has been working very
closely with the Institute for many years and we are now very pleased to
formalise our relationship with ACCA to share views and work towards the
development of the national accountancy profession, with emphasis on
possible co-operation in respect of professional accountancy training,
education, examinations and continuing professional development and
joint activities in Sri Lanka.”
He also further stated that the members of ICASL and ACCA could
enhance their profile through reciprocal exemptions scheme which will
serve as the gateway to better options and more opportunities for
members of both bodies.
ACCA’s Head of Strategic Business Unit - Middle East and South Asia,
Andrew Steele, who signed the MoU on behalf of ACCA said: “ACCA is
delighted to be working in partnership with ICASL and we look forward to
developing joint initiatives which will help to develop the profession
in Sri Lanka and which will be of direct benefit to the business
community and individuals who rely on the work of professional
accountants.

with leading national bodies which contribute to the development of our
