Public servants must help eradicate waste, corruption - Home
Minister
Shirley Wijesinghe
All public servants should get together to eradicate waste and
corruption. There is no sustainable solution for the problem other than
this, said Home Minister Chandrasiri Gadjadheera.
He was speaking at the Diploma Awards ceremony of the officers of Sri
Lanka Administrative Services held recently at the Sri Lanka Institute
of Development Administration. Minister Gadjadheera said officers who
received diploma certificates should apply the knowledge whenever
necessary.
Such certificates will neither add value to the country nor benefit
the person who possesses it.
Gadjadheera said the administration of a country will be more
practical when the people become educated.
Appointing of unsuitable persons to important posts creates unrest in
society. This process should be changed, the Minister stressed.
'' The Government has a clear vision on the country's development by
having a 10 year plan.. All Government servants are bound to fulfill the
development goal", he said.
Secretary of the Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry, D.
Dissanayake and Secretary to the Prime Minister Mahinda Bandusena also
spoke. |
