The certification by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Limited
covers the provision of Freight Forwarding Services including Ocean and
Air Freight, International Express and associated Logistics Services and
harmonises many disciplines within the company.
Speaking at the formal presentation of the certification to MIT
Cargo, Hayleys PLC Deputy Chairman Mohan Pandithage said conforming to a
stringent international quality management system like ISO 9001 is
difficult in a fast-paced and mercurial business like freight
forwarding. “We are proud of this important achievement by MIT Cargo,”
Pandithage said.
As part of the process, MIT Cargo has trained 12 of its staff as
Internal Auditors who will conduct periodic in-house audits to monitor
compliance with the requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Management
System. A leader in the local freight management industry for more than
two decades, MIT Cargo provides domestic and global logistical solutions
to the import and export trade.
The company is accredited by the International Air Transport
Association (IATA) and the International Federation of Freight
Forwarders Associations (FIATA).
MIT Cargo is partnered globally by Panalpina World Transport, an
integrated door-to-door forwarding solutions provider who operates a
global network of 554 branches in 88 countries.
As a Hayleys Advantis Company, MIT Cargo and its clients also have
access to expertise and synergies within the group in several key areas
including International Freight, Third Party Logistics, Shipping and
Marine Services, Warehousing and Transit Facilities, Haulage, Aviation
and Travel Services. |
