Negombo YSC down Pelicans SC 6-0

Negombo Youth Sports Club managed to beat hold on to their second position yesterday defeating hapless Pelicans Sports Club six goals to nil at CR & FC ground.

The Negombo team was in front at the breather with a fine lead 4-0. With this victory Negombo Youth has a tally of 16 points from 9 games. Renown SC meanwhile also has collected 13 points from eight games are making a strong bid to enter the semi final from segment A-I. Meanwhile in another game played yesterday at Kelaniya Football Federation ground Saunders Sports Club from Pettah overcame Jupiters SC one goal to nil. The teams took lemons with a blank score card and the winning goal for the Pettah Club was scored only in the second session of play.

Though Saunders SC won this game they will get the opportunity to reach the semis from Segment A-II but have moved a step forward to reach the fourth position. (BP)
