Turkey helps agriculture development

TURKEY: Turkey has pledged technological assistance to Sri Lanka for the development of agriculture.

This follows talks President Mahinda Rajapaksa had with Turkey's Agriculture Minister Mehdi Eker during his official visit to Turkey on Tuesday evening.

Eker said Turkey would provide assistance in the spheres of water management and production of fertiliser and agricultural equipment. He also promised to provide lentils to Sri Lanka at a concessionary price.

Mutual Trade links with Turkey which is a big trading partner with Europe and Asia will provide a big boost to the agriculture sector of both countries.
