KOTTE: TMVP leader Vinayagamoorthi Muralitharan took oaths
before Speaker W. J. M. Lokubandara as a Member of Parliament from the
UPFA National List yesterday.
He fills the vacancy created by the resignation of JVP member
Wasantha Samarasinghe who contested for the Provincial Council election
held recently. UNP and JVP members were not present in the House.The
Members of the National Freedom Front, Sri Lanka Muslim Congress and TNA
were present.
He was cordially welcomed by Government members. Eastern Province
Chief Minister S. Chandrakanthan (Pillayan) and Batticaloa Mayor
Shivageetha Prabhakaran were also present.
