The Average Weighted Prime Lending Rate (AWPR) and the Lowest Prime Rate (LPR) 
during the week ended 03rd October, 2008 by all commercial banks was 21.19 
per cent and 18.00 per cent respectively.

The Average Weighted Deposit Rate (AWDR) of the commercial banks, for the month
of August 2008 was 11.03 per cent.
