Aanshu Prathibha
Shavindri Abeysinghe and Udara Kariyapperuma, two young artistes will
display their forte in music, dancing and performing arts at Aanshu
Prathibha at the Lionel Wendt theatre today.
Aanshu Prathibha, a collaboration of singing and dancing is aimed at
boosting our own traditional music, dancing and performing arts.
The heritage makes Lankans unique among other nations and the
traditional cultural heritage gives the courage and the moral boost to
stand out proudly.
Chalani seeks your help
Chalani Dil Peshani Fernando, 6, of 46 1/17, Gemunu Mawatha,
Hunupitiya, Wattala is diagnosed with bilateral profound hearing
impairment and recommended a urgent cochlear implant surgery which is
estimated to cost Rs. 1.8 million to Rs. 2.8 million depending on the
model of cochlear implant used. She also needs to attend rehabilitation
program of few years, afterwards.
Chalani’s father a Corporal of the Vijayabahu Regiment, Sri Lanka
Army is unable to bear this medical cost and seeks public assistance to

Buddhist talk
Ven. Olande Ananda Thera will deliver a public Buddhist talk in
English on ‘Mindfulness of Vedana leading to insight’ at a meeting of
the Servants of the Buddha Society on Saturday, October 4 at 4.30 p.m.
