Book launch, photo exhibition of Beijing Olympics

The National Day of the People's Republic of China falls on October 1. The 59th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China will be celebrated this year by the Sri Lanka-China Society in collaboration with Bandaranaike Memorial National Foundation at 5 p.m. at the Committee Room 'A' of the BMICH with the Chinese Ambassador as the chief guest.

Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama will be the guest of honour. Nimal Bandara, Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Nihal Rodrigo, former Sri Lankan Ambassador in China will be special guests.

A photography exhibition of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing will be declared open by the Ambassador.

A book produced by the Sri Lanka-China Society with the guidance and assistance of the Ministry of Education will also be launched by the Chinese Ambassador.

This book will be distributed among all schools by the Ministry of Education. The photography exhibition will continue till October 2.
