LTTE terrorists exploded a bomb inside a bus - Pollgolla 

The LTTE terrorists have carried out a cowardly bomb attack inside a public transport bus in Pollgolla, Kandy short while ago(03.50p.m.). The bus, bearing number cp HG 7503, was plying from Waththegama to Kandy, and the explosion occurred near the Teachers' Training School in Polgolla, sources said. More than 20 civilians were onboard when the bomb exploded.

Bomb explosion in Pollgolla 03:50 p.m.

A bomb has been exploded in side a public transport bus near the Youth Centre in Polgolla, Kandy short while ago, June 6. According to the initial report, the explosion occurred around 3.50 p.m. and bus was plying from Mathale to Kandy.

Govt taking all steps to secure GSP Plus

The Government yesterday assured that it will take all steps to ensure the extension of the GSP Plus concession provided to Sri Lanka by the European Union. Addressing the weekly Cabinet media briefing, Export Development and International Trade Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris said that making an application for the extension of the concession in haste will not be in the best interest of the country.

Troops capture 1 Km of LTTE defence line in Adampan

Marking another milestone in the battle on the Mannar front troops on Wednesday evening captured a one kilometre stretch of the main defence line of the LTTE covering the Mannar 'Rice Bowl' as they reached the edge of the 'Rice Bowl' north of Adampan, military sources said yesterday.

Janashakthi goes for Rs. 33 m share issue

Will raise Rs. 400 m for expansion:

The first Initial Public Offering after two years of silence will be rolled out by Janashakthi Insurance Co Limited to issue 33 million ordinary shares at Rs 12 each to raise Rs 400 million for the company.
