Troops capture 1 Km of LTTE defence line in Adampan
Marking another milestone in the battle on the
Mannar front troops on Wednesday evening captured a one kilometre
stretch of the main defence line of the LTTE covering the Mannar
'Rice Bowl' as they reached the edge of the 'Rice Bowl' north of
Adampan, military sources said yesterday.

Wellawatte rail track bomber arrested
Jatheesan Balasubramanian, 30, the main Tiger
suspect in the Wellawatte railway bomb incident was taken into
custody at the Irattaperiyakulam police road block at Vauniya. The
arrest was made at around 6.00 p.m. on the day of the incident.
