Thurstanites in promising 27-2 win

Thurstan College, Colombo crushed St. Sylvester's College, Kandy by 27 points (1 goal, 1 try, 5 penalties) to 12 (4 penalties) in their schools Singer Shield Division one Group 'B' rugby tournament match played at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy yesterday. At half time Thurstanites led 15-6.

The man behind the success of Thurstan College was their fly half Lahiru Dasun who was responsible for all the points scored by them.

For St. Sylvester's College full back J.M. Piyar converted four penalties. But the Sylvesterians made a lot of mistakes and gave away penalties.

They also dropped passes at crucial stages. With fever defeats under their belts. They will have to win their next two games to avoid being demoted to lower division.
