7th SAFF Championship 2008:

The second game of the group 'B' of the SAFF Championship between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan ended in a two all draw at the Sugathadasa stadium under lights. It was one of the top games witnessed by the spectators after a long period.

Third South Asian Championships in Dhaka:

Sri Lankan National Wushu contingent comprising 21 players, emerged runners up at the 3rd South Asian Wushu Championship held recently at the Mirpur International Indoor Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh winning 5 Gold, 13 Silver and 6 Bronze medals.
